Time for a catch up!

Whooo...an annoying dose of the winter lurgy has kept me away from blogging, and Ive not been gossiping on the forum much either...I must have been ill lol! The coughing and spluttering is lingering on, but surely is on its way out now!

HAPPY NEWS - Im going to be a nana...Nana Bubbles, thats me! Jamie & Izzy are expected a little bundle on August 15th, and I am so excited, there arent words!!! Just think of all those scrapping opportunities...and all those snuggly cuddles of course!

Inbetween all the excitement, I have dabbled in my crafting...having made an early year spurt, it all kind of slowed up a little. However, Im now getting back on track with the 52 Q & A ... only one tag behind, and Im not really behind yet as a new question isnt due until Monday. I made a little slide show of Q3...and have now decided to hang my tags on one hoop not two - so had the pleasure of tying ribbons into surplus holes on previous tags - yay!

Crafty warehouse today....I do hope they have some matte mod podge, its like the Holy Grail online! Looking forward to an exciting rendezvous too!

52 Questions and Answers

Here is a wonderful project to get your teeth into! Jackie (the find-the-most-amazing-blogs queen) over on docrafts gave us a link to Em's blog here , as she launches a fabulous 52 Q&A project. Each week, she will offer up one question and the idea is to create tags, or a journalling book, with the question on one side, and the answer on the other. This is a wonderful project, one..to hone up your journalling skills (and boy do I need that!), and two, to learn a lot about yourself.

For this project I am using over-sized playing cards, and so far we have covered two questions. But first I made a cover page for the project:



and the back....



Question 1: What are my wishes for 2009?






Question 2: Am I afraid of change?






Em says new questions will be set on Sundays or Mondays, so over on docrafts we eagerly await Question 3 any time now!

One brilliant thing about this project is that you can jump in at any time...its never too late to join in! So if you havent taken the plunge so far, come on in, its going to be great fun!!!

A challenge from Caroline!

here , threw down the gauntlet and challenged us to dig out a kit that we've had for ages and put it together. I had a good rootle and found these very pretty K&Company mini-kits:

... and a little mini-album, it has little plastic photo holders inside...for now, filled with some yummy K&Company papers:



Hey, not a bad afternoons work eh! This morning I made Kate's February page...to be unveiled at a later date, so it certainly does pay to get up early!!!

A Purr-fect challenge!

Over on docrafts we set ourselves a monthly scrap challenge, each taking it in turns to come up with a list of elements to use on a layout. This month it was Margaret's (Buntyfly) turn, and her remit was:

One photo - framed

Journalling - not hidden

The use of blue or green

The title to be either Perfect or Perfection

A handmade embellishment

OK...so I cheated a little, I couldnt resist tweaking the title for this photo of Daisy luxuriating in her nest!

The background paper is from my lush Club Scrap supplies, and I cut into the pattern to frame the photo along the bottom. The title was cut using Sizzix Endless Love dies, and the journalling spot (my handmade element!?!) was stamped with a Stamps Away stamp. A strip of green with white spots American Crafts ribbon across the page plus 3 pale blue buttons, and I was done! Talking of buttons (as I love to do!)...lets have a look at my latest supply - Foof A La of course, the Savannah selection...scrummy!!!

Some sweet ribbon storage!

My sister came in one day with these sweetie jars...knowing my Womble ways of collecting anything and everything 'in case it comes in handy', she says to me 'can you make any use of these?'



Mmmm...'you just leave those beauties with me' I said, 'I'll see what I can do'. They needed some lengthy soaking and scrubbing to get the labels off, but such worthwhile slog...as I turned those sweetie jars in scrummy ribbons jars!



I think they look so pretty, and what a delightful way to sort my ribbons into colours! I've plenty more to do yet....purples, reds, pinks.....and so on - such fun!

At last - back to playing with pretty paper!

My festive dotees just had to be scrapped, and were the inspiration for this page:



I loved the colours, and even more so the bobbly braid so much, I decided to make a matching page celebrating our New Years Eve party over on the docrafts forum! We all wore silly hats, shared photos of ourselves wearing them on the forum gallery - then proceeded to scrap our photos along with our New Years Resolutions...well, mine is more a to-do list, with a little wishful thinking thrown in! The journalling on the festive dotee page is my little ditty from further down on my blog, with the tag tucked behind the 'dotee crowd' photo showing all the names of the festive dotees new owners! If you want to read my resolutions...I think if you click on the piccie, it will become super big!

Crafting with Kate and Sue!

Now that the festivies are over, its time to catch up with whats been going on in the crafty world of sue-bubbles!

Firstly I'm going to share with you the crafty efforts of myself and Kate, who is my sons lovely partner - she is so talented...here is the cutest apple dotee that she made for me for Christmas!



Kate loves notebooks and is constantly filling them with her experiences, so I altered a ring-bound note book for her...it started off looking like this:

Kate was very happy with it, and I know she will put it to very good use!

Kate and I are also making calendar pages for each other and exchanging them each month...sorry mine was late this month Kate - I will do my best to be more prompt from now on! Anyway...here are our pages for January, first a beautiful wintry dotee from Kate:
