What beautiful page titles....!

Arent my titles fab!

I love how these turned out. Used WordArt, 54 font, filled in with dark grey. Cut out, corners rounded then set onto black paper and cut around. These are going to look fabulous on my pages!

Have at last sorted through the photos and got over the 'where the heck was that' crisis! Now waiting for papers.......

Stage one of mission - accomplished!

Page titles are underway...

Over 200 photos later....and still much of the board not covered - a return trip is needed - definately when it is sunny and warm! Still...enough to be going on with, but guess what - I dont have just the right colour papers to get going, and we know what that means - stash shopping...yay! As luck would have it, Club Scrap are having a sale on their random papers - so a big fat order was made, but I have to wait to the first week in May to receive it! Still, plenty to be getting on with in the meantime - not least getting over the cold & wet day - I couldnt walk properly for 3 days...what a wimp! Then I pondered on the style of my pages - would they be individual in style, or standard across the board (excuse the pun!)....and I settled on the 'standard' as that really would fit the theme better......so, lets get started on the titles!

...it did brighten up...thank goodness!

Leicester Square, London.

That wet & windy day on the 28th March was nearly doomed. At around 1.30 Joe & I sat in KFC comfort eating while we thawed out, and contemplated abandoning the mission. Well, after a little panic attack.....I hadnt bought any craft stash yet!.....I pretty much gave in as we were totally soaked through and the rain was still bucketing down. But, I could not go home empty handed, so I said that we must find Liberty's, I NEED to go there, and I want to see John Lewis in Oxford St, and maybe a little visit to Hamleys - all warm & dry places.... then we can go home.

But as luck would have it, as we emerged from the stores (Liberty's now being my favourite shop on Earth!), the sun was beaming down and the wind had dropped.......the mission was back on!

London here I come.....

With a weeks holiday approaching, I was eager to get my project underway! My son Joe arranged a day off from work as he was to accompany me, armed with his A-Z and the navigating skills that only a guy could have...mmmmm! 'If it looks like bad weather, we wont go' said we...but the morning clouds held no fear for us - 'it will clear, we will be fine...'

Having tackled the bus and the 'so-called' express train, we arrived at Euston at around 11 am - nearly 3 hours from leaving home....a little drizzle, but hey, no worries...it will blow over in a minute.

Oh well.......

One cold winters night in 2007 I had an idea.....

I cant remember now exactly when and why this idea popped into my head...but once it did I was on a mission! My mission was a secret project - it would take some careful planning and lots of time, but promised to be the most fun!

And my secret project is.......drum roll please.....to scrap the Monopoly board!!! Forget the Monopoly pub crawl - thats been done, and I havent the staying power for that, but what fun it would be to visit all the locations around the board - take lots of photos and to find out all manner of interesting facts & figures about these places. I grew up in London and visited the City often, but like many people with there local area, you kind of take it for granted and even being our Capital, it was 'nothing special'. Having lived out of London for 35 years with only the odd visit back, I looked forward to visiting as a tourist and revelling in the wonder of it all. My project would give me the focus to study the detail - to look, learn and enjoy rather than let it all pass me by. So, where to start.....?

Well, I figured this was going to take more than a day trip, and if I didnt do some research and planning first, it would take many more days than I could afford to gather all my resources. I had plenty of time for such research though - I was waiting for a sunny day which, on that cold evening in December, was likely to be a few months away. So I googled & wikipedia'd to my hearts content, and drew up lists of landmarks, notes about the rich & famous.....various ideas for page layouts......and I waited for my sunny day!
