Monopoly project rained off for today...

No trip to London as planned - it was way too cold & wet! So instead Ive been having a play with making some free metal embellies! Having watched the latest webisode on my favourite project site: tvweekly.com - 'Heavy Metal' - I found myself chopping up and ironing, yes ironing a coke can! Then out came my Big Kick and these embellies were born! Never again will I toss the cans in the recycling tub - I will be recycling them myself from now on!

Shopping heaven...the green set is done!

A wonderful mini heatwave led me to make arrangements for another photo shoot this coming Saturday...and what happens - its cold & cloudy once again! Still...forever the optimist - Joe & I still plan to head to London - unless its actually raining - Im not going through that again!

Meanwhile, I have plenty of photos to be going on with, so here is the green set - lots of shops with a teeny bit of culture thrown in here and there. The stars of Bond Street are Franklin D Roosevelt & Winston Churchill...and Joe!

Titles cut using cuttlebug 'hippie chick' dies and a little bit of stitching with the aid of Bazzill 'silly stitches' template.

All systems are go - first set of properties are DONE!

Okay...owing to circumstances beyond my control, ie: the British weather, public transport and the need to go earn a living...we will not be travelling around the Monopoly board in an orderly fashion! So...the story begins about half way around the board - and here are my first completed pages - the yellow set!

3rd May - Scrapbooking Day

A good day to make a start on my Monopoly pages I think! Thanks to a little online sale I have some scrummy Bazzill Bling papers to work with, so got to work on the train stations and the 'yellow' locations. My new Bazzill stitching template also came in handy...with a little adaptation... for some train tracks...so a busy day stitching & sticking on titles! Im now going to print out my first photos...so watch this space!

I love how these turned out. Used WordArt, 54 font, filled in with dark grey. Cut out, corners rounded then set onto black paper and cut around. These are going to look fabulous on my pages!

Have at last sorted through the photos and got over the 'where the heck was that' crisis! Now waiting for papers.......

Stage one of mission - accomplished!

Over 200 photos later....and still much of the board not covered - a return trip is needed - definately when it is sunny and warm! Still...enough to be going on with, but guess what - I dont have just the right colour papers to get going, and we know what that means - stash shopping...yay! As luck would have it, Club Scrap are having a sale on their random papers - so a big fat order was made, but I have to wait to the first week in May to receive it! Still, plenty to be getting on with in the meantime - not least getting over the cold & wet day - I couldnt walk properly for 3 days...what a wimp! Then I pondered on the style of my pages - would they be individual in style, or standard across the board (excuse the pun!)....and I settled on the 'standard' as that really would fit the theme better......so, lets get started on the titles!

...it did brighten up...thank goodness!

That wet & windy day on the 28th March was nearly doomed. At around 1.30 Joe & I sat in KFC comfort eating while we thawed out, and contemplated abandoning the mission. Well, after a little panic attack.....I hadnt bought any craft stash yet!.....I pretty much gave in as we were totally soaked through and the rain was still bucketing down. But, I could not go home empty handed, so I said that we must find Liberty's, I NEED to go there, and I want to see John Lewis in Oxford St, and maybe a little visit to Hamleys - all warm & dry places.... then we can go home.

But as luck would have it, as we emerged from the stores (Liberty's now being my favourite shop on Earth!), the sun was beaming down and the wind had dropped.......the mission was back on!
